Meet Brian Hull
A true, native son of Tacoma, Brian Hull’s creativity and love of design led him to pursue a degree in Art at OSU. In the process of using those skills to create his own printing business, he supplemented his income by working at the Art House Café. Brian’s early association with food preparation began in the dining services at Annie Wright School. A supportive Supervisor provided opportunities for Brian to watch and learn from the actual chefs. In doing so, he discovered not only his culinary talents as a chef, but a genuine desire to learn more and hone his new-found skills.
Brian discovered a unique connection with the Art House as they incorporated the same values in their food and menu that Brian used in his printing business – natural, organic, down to earth elements. During his 3 years at the Cafe, he’s watched, listened and learned from the Head Chefs and, this year, earned the distinction of being named Sous Chef. Being self taught, he is very proud to have earned this title. Brian will continue to grow, challenge himself, and learn thru his work at the Art House. In the meantime, he hopes you’ll stop in and try ‘Brian’s BLT” sandwich – an item that continues to be a favorite.
When not cooking, Brian enjoys everything about the Northwest - photography, skiing, hiking, and spending time with his family.
