Art House Cafe is choosing to close its doors as of May 3.
Arthouse will be ending with 12 years of serving Tacoma patrons. Sadly, it is time for us to move on from the food service business to pursue new projects, ongoing businesses, to take care of personal medical procedures, and new adventures and travels.
Art House Cafe, believe it or not, started as a means for us to have wine and painting classes. It grew into something much more than we ever dreamed. The lessons we have learned as inexperienced restaurant owners have been invaluable. The relationships with people that have worked for us and our many customers who have become good friends will be treasured always.
This decision does not come easily and saddens us as we have great joy when we enter the restaurant and it’s full of happy people enjoying each other’s company and our eclectic brunch menu.
For those of you who are shocked and saddened, please know this has been a hard but necessary choice. This becomes all the more difficult because we currently have the most cohesive and best crew we have ever had. With the help of some of our food service providers, we will be actively working with anyone who wishes help to find new employment.
With all of its challenges throughout these 12 years, Art House Cafe was always a joyful place when it was filled with you: our customers.
In the future, we will be maintaining our commissary kitchen and keeping the Arthouse name alive. Future endeavors will include adult cooking classes, workshops and events including dishes from our Art House menu.
.
Places we love and will be enjoying in the future ourselves to fill our own brunch needs are mentioned below.
We are grateful to Tacoma and the people we have served.
Thank you for all,
Art House Cafe
